Christmas The real Mission

When you are a Little kid the first thing that comes into your mind is doing something adventurous like climbing a tree or hiking in the stairs or jumping in the bed or saving the world from your evil teddy bear or flying, and touring the milk shake in your bed or flying all over the world in your swing, and of course doing all of that with the company of your crew. This and many other adventurous remember me of my childhood.  I am the biggest of four sisters, and for me they had always been too small for doing all of this adventures with me, because my mom always told me to take care of them or to be careful of not hurt them with my games, the only one who was big enough, and could field this requirement was my sister Michelle, but even thought she was to little sometimes, so my only moment of doing this was with my favorite cousins Nicky and Juanfer. I remember we were unstoppable; we did everything together every time the families got a meeting. As a little kid we always think that nothing can happen, and that we are like the super heroes and that we were the best detectives in history, and that we solved everything. I remember one Christmas in my cousin Nicky’s grandpas; it was as usual all the family was there. My aunt Evelyn as always wanted to make this meeting as unusual and different every year, she put all over the place candies, and she told us your mission is to look for all the candies, and at the end you will get the biggest surprise of your lives. I remember our faces shined as gold and our smiles were as big as a clown face, I remember thinking not only candies but a surprise this is the best Christmas ever. We ran all over the place finding the candies, but actually what was in our mind as our biggest goal was finding the biggest surprise, we didn’t knew what was it we were only eight years old, we imagine everything even a treasure or a dog, and we even imagine a fairy. We kept looking all over the place. When we were getting really tired we sat in a tree (which was our “secret house” it was where we all planed our missions or the games or jokes we were going to make) eating the candies, when suddenly we heard I funny laugh, and a very weird voice saying to us “hey kids don’t you want to play with me”. At the beginning we thought “Oh, no they found our secret force, but then we saw something we don’t know this person. We couldn’t recognize the voice it was not from someone we knew and the laugh either. We got really scared, my cousin told Nicky, and me come on lets go and see who he or she is. At the beginning we refused until we saw, that my little sisters didn’t were there neither my other little cousins. We got really scared because the first thing that came into our minds was he got them and he is not a human or he is really mean. To even make it worst it was almost six in the afternoon so it was getting cold outside, and the sun was getting down. It was actually our first real mission of all; my heart was pumping out of my heart every time harder from the fear I got; we started walking in the direction we thought we heard the voice, but we couldn’t heard anything else only the sound of the birds returning to their homes, suddenly we heard my sisters voice screaming and laughing at the same time it was weird so we started running to that place, we got closer and we saw this brown big chair with a red hat over it, we started getting closer and closer, finally we were close enough to see who was behind the chair we turned around the chair, and for our surprise and happiness it was Santa Clause, he told us surprise! We couldn’t stop laughing he was the biggest surprise, and actually the candies did get us to him, but we didn’t thought about it we even thought he was an alien who caught my little cousins, and sisters. I remember the relieve I got in that moment my heart even got to his normal rhythm. I was really excited to see Santa Clause but what really got me happy was the fact that, that mission was over and that he was not an alien, and that we were not alone everybody was just find. After that I don’t remember what happen latter in that Christmas, because my cousins and me, we were stilled thinking in that creepy moment on were we thought that he was an alien and that he caught all our family because nobody was making a sound because they wanted to give us a surprise. We were also thinking that, that was the best Christmas ever, actually it was the last one, I don’t remember why but my family never made a Christmas reunion never again, I miss that but the memory of that Christmas I will never forget the best of my life, our real mission.

The Gigantic From the Heart

I do know that when you are little the first impression is very important, and stays in your mind forever, and what you thought about that person in that moment will stay in your memory every time you see that person. I remember the first time I saw him, so tall like a gigantic I even thought he was like a goddess he was really tall, and I think I saw him even tallest because I was only 8 years old, and he was 45 years old, and he was almost six foot tall, at the beginning I thought he was mean like the gigantic from the movies that are the bad guys in the movies . When my mom told me to say hi I was very afraid of him. At that time he had white hair not too much like if he was going to get bold, but the hair was long and a little bit curly, he had blue eyes almost like the color of the sky, and until I saw his eyes I saw his look. He had this look of sweet, nice, and lovely.  I remember thinking with my little sister Michelle: “Probably he is Santa Clause”. Then I notice something different in him he didn’t had any hands instead he had like hooks, it was different for me I remember thinking he is like a super robot tall, nice, good, and the arms like a robot. I remember that he went to my house with his family, his four children and his wife which she is a cousin of my mom.  His name is Marcel. He is very nice with everybody and a very funny person he made us laugh with Michelle all the time telling us stories. When it was time for dinner my mom served cookies, cake, and a cup of coffee, and when he started to drink the coffee he grabbed the cup with his hooks in a very amazing way, my sister even called them little spoons because they had this weird shape. At the end of the evening they leaved my house, we say goodbye hooping to see them again. When they left we asked my mom who were they and why he had his hands like a robot, she explained to us the situation he had when he was little he had an accident, and lost his arms, and all his body suffered really bad burns, he even lost one ear and almost all his hair; she also explained us that he lived almost all his life with this, and that when he wanted to ask his wife for marriage he explained to her his situation and how he was in his body, and that she told him “I don’t care I love you and it doesn’t matter to me”. My mom explained to us how amazing this person was because that no matter what he lived, and what he had gone throw his life with this accident he didn’t care and he didn’t let himself down, and that he even worked more for being someone especial in this world and to do something important with his life. I spend the rest of the night thinking of this nice adult who was the nicest person I had ever meet, I remember thinking that he is one of those people that you want to be like him or that you feel a really big admiration for that person; I think he is not only a gigantic in the outside because he is really tall, but he is also a gigantic from the heart, and soul because of his biggest heart and because of his wills to do everything and to think that nothing is impossible if you just believe in you . I know that at the beginning I was very afraid of him I mean imagine this big person with blue eyes taller than you and also bigger than you in age and that has robot arms, I was really afraid of him, but until I know him I notice how wrong I was about him he was nothing at all a bad person or mean he was, and still is the nicest person I had ever met and he has this big heart, and he does everything and even more with his disability. He is now one of the people that I admire the most in my life he is an inspiration for me and he is like my friend. The day that I met him I would never forget because that day I notice the prejudice I made before I even met him just because of his high and his condition. What I notice is how powerful the first impression of a person is in your life it can make you see a person from a different way and a different form of how they really are sometime you really see at first sight how they are, but sometimes we are so mistaken we see them just of how they physically are and how they look and that’s our first impression of them, we sometimes don’t even care about the inside of that person and because sometimes the first impression was not very nice and good we don’t take the bather to see them in the inside, and to really look how they are. I do think that the first impression is very powerful, and important because that’s what stays in your mind, in your memory for ever.

the most wonderful night

We always think that the rainy days always bring something sad or they just ruin our afternoon because we think we can’t do anything else. Is even worst when the lights turn off and there is no electricity, we think we can’t do anything. We think that the time is passing to slow and that you are stocked with your family until the electricity comes back (Feeling that it’s going to be the longest hours of our lives).  In my story this is how it starts as the most boring afternoon, but this is not the way it ends. I remember I was only 10 years old; it was a Friday at six in the afternoon so there was not so many lights only the one from the room, and from the T.V. I was playing Barbie in my living room with my sisters, Michelle who at that moment was eight, Natalie who was 6, and the twins Carol and Valerie who were just 4. We were playing until the lights went down, and because it was very late we couldn’t see anything. Carol began to cry and Valerie couldn’t stop laughing, I actually was very calm. After a long time waiting for the light we got really bored, we didn’t knew what to do. My mom saw our faces and said to us “I have an idea, wait for me just right here, I’ll come back in a second”. She looked with her telephone for a candle in her room when she finally find it, she put it in a big table in the living room, and she grabbed   a little doll and start making shadows with the doll and her hands she told us a story about a princess, and a very mean old lady. We were very interested in the story, until my little sister Natalie made fun of the doll saying “she is to short she looks like Mutty”. (Mutty is my grandmother from my mom’s side) she was really short. We all laughed so much, because actually she was very similar to my grandmother’s size. My mom, to put some music to make the atmosphere even more happy, she began to sing a song that my grandmother used to sing it was called “say why tell me grandma” in Spanish (“di  por quĂ© dime abuelita?”). To even make it funnier my mom start making fun of the song making a weird voice like a little baby, and saying things that didn’t were in the original song.  We spend the whole night with her laughing and singing, I think it was one of the most wonderful nights with my mom. Of course my little sisters the twins fall asleep very early because they were very little, but my other sisters and me, we spend the whole night with my mom. We forgot about the time, and we even forgot that we didn’t have any electricity. Probably you will think that this is the weirdest memory of a child, but actually I remember this day as the most special day of my life, because we spend all the night together we ate candies we laughed hours, and we spend a very beautiful night as a family together. I never thought that actually a very ugly weather, a very sad afternoon, and the most depressing thoughts thinking that it was going to be the most longest and boring afternoon of my life, but when actually it ended up in the most funniest and wonderful  nights with my family. That day I learned that  even in the most hard times or in the moments in which you think nothing else you can do and that this is it you have to always see the positive side of it, or look at it in a different perspective because you never know what can happened latter. You have to always take the good thing of everything, and that even in the most horrible days of the year you can always do something else and still have an amazing moment. I now that in that moment I thought that everything was going to be boring, and that we couldn’t do anything else because there was no electricity, but it actually passed the total opposite, even when the lights turn on and the electricity was back we got really sad because we were having the funniest time of the day it was a very nice day. You never thought that a bad weather could bring such a joyful and happy time with my family.
